Lucas DeCastilhos

Lucas is a Bend, Oregon native and has been a designer at STEELE since 2022. Prior to working in architecture, he had experience with electrical engineering & lighting design.

His interest in architecture first began as a kid while exploring the new construction on the Tour of Homes put on every summer by COBA (Central Oregon Builders Association). He has a passion for creating warm, inviting spaces and enthusiastically focuses on constructability. Lucas has worked on a variety of projects including schools, libraries, health care, multi-family & single family. 



In his free time, Lucas loves to mountain bike, go 4-wheeling in his jeep, and paddle board on the Deschutes River in the summer. In the winter he is an avid alpine skier and has recently picked up telemark skiing as well. Once completed with those activities you can find Lucas cooking/grilling while sharing a local microbrew with his friends.
