Virginia was born in Oregon but almost immediately left with her family to spend the first 10 years of her life in Flagstaff, Arizona. She returned with her family in 2006 and has always considered Bend to be a beautiful reminder of Flagstaff within Oregon. After debating it for many years, she finally moved here in the summer of 2022.
Her understanding and love for architecture was unexpectedly sparked during her first day in college at an Architecture 101 lecture she didn't even want to go to. The architecture professor described and illustrated the connection between light, materials, and building form to make a place beautiful, functional, and welcoming. She was hooked by the end of the class. She began studying sustainable architecture, becoming a Certified Passive House Consultant (CPHC) during her third year, and supporting professors in those subjects as a teaching assistant three different times. She also loves architecture on a larger scale, in the way buildings fit into their surrounding environment to create a more harmonious community for that building to thrive in.
Her love for French stems from time spent living abroad in France for a year during High School, learning the language and falling in love with the country. She continued her French studies at university and has traveled back to France as much as possible. Her love for travel expanded to many other countries around the world in the past few years. When she isn't traveling, she loves all things art related: drawing, painting, dancing, singing, music, and acting.
